1. Early Magazine Covers: They mimic the covers of books by only putting the title and publication data. They wouldn't have words that let the reader know what to expect to see inside the magazine. Some of them had small illustrations. There were also symbolic covers that were used to show the feel of the publication.
2. The Poster Cover: They were covers in which the picture or logo was main thing that you saw, with a small amount of words. The art on the cover was meant to override the words and explain without words. The words shouldn't be necessary and the picture should explain it all. Few words were used.
3. Pictures Married to Type: Cover lines were used the most to try to bring the readers attention inside, rather than using the art. Although, some covers use only images to portray the message. Some other covers use cover lines and pictures to get the message across.
4. In the Forest of Words: Cover lines are used big time for these types of covers. Sometimes, the cover lines were bigger than the name of the magazine. Cover lines with cover art introduced a new look for magazine covers. The cover lines tend to be strong than any image that is on the cover.

My Favorite Cover
Description: Cover of Glamour magazine
This is good formal magazine cover. It shows how happy Michelle Obama is to be named one of the women of the year by this magazine. The bright colors make it pop and it grabs your attention. The light background against her skin tone and dress make the mood feel happy. Mrs. Obama's position in the pose kind of makes it seem like she is comfortable and honored to be there. The exposure brings out the shiny glow of her skin.

Gluten-free cake mixes, greek yogurt, organic apples, high-powered locally brewed hops, chips made out of chick peas, and kale
Bonus - What is your favorite item listed and WHY?
Greek yogurt is my favorite because it tastes the best to me and is actually pretty good for you. It's also not strange, like chips made out of chick peas.
REMINDER - Some of you are not writing enough here. A single sentence isn't enough. I expect you to expand upon your writing. If you think you have written enough, you haven't, write more. Be sure to answer WHY you think something.
A. Read the opinion article on page A9 titled Mentally disabled inmates still routinely put to death in Texas. Give me your opinion about this topic. Please reference the article to support your opinion. The simple question to answer is do you agree or disagree with the writer.
I do think that mentally disabled inmates should be put to death. They are humans just like everybody else, even though they are different in certain ways. If somebody is capable of committing a crime like a "normal" person would, then why shouldn't they be punished the same way? It's not right to treat them differently, because the victim's family is still hurt and it wouldn't be fair to go easy on the criminal because he's different.

Self Portraits and Portraits Part 1
1. Alter Your Perspective
Most portraits are taken with the camera at (or around) the eye level of the subject. While this is good common sense – completely changing the angle that you shoot from can give your portrait a real WOW factor.
2. Shoot Candidly
Sometimes posed shots can look somewhat…. posed. Some people don’t look good in a posed environment and so switching to a candid type approach can work.
Environmental
I chose this picture because of how it shows what he is doing and he is obviously happy with it. I like that he is showing emotion and doing his job.
I chose this picture because of the movement and flexibility that is shown. It is a great shot and it seems as if she is enjoying that she is doing.
Photography
I chose this picture because of the color and background. I like it because she's not looking at the camera, it was taken up close, and seems to be taken off-guard.
I chose this picture because of the black and white colors and the camera being in the photo. I like that there is a prop in the picture and how his expression is plain.
Casual
I chose this picture because of the background and the overall colors in the picture. It is bright and I like that the background is vibrant. She also seems super happy.
I chose this picture because of the framing around the subject. I like that she is kneeling down and holding on to the sides. I also like that there is a lake or pond in the background and you can see the water.
I plan on shooting at my house, either inside or outside in the yard. I will take photos of myself and my friend Alex Barcenas. To make the photos successful, I will apply as many rules of photography as I can and remember the helpful tips when taking each different shot.
Abandoned Theme Parks
1. Lincoln Park, Dartmouth, Massachusetts. I would want to go there because of all the incidents that happened there. Cars were always derailed and many people died. The ride that caused fatalities is still there and it would be cool to go and take pictures and see it in real life.
2.
2.
3. The abandoned outdoor movie theater in Egypt, upside down house in Russia, six star hotel in Dubai, Magic Restroom Cafe - a restaurant designed after toilets, and Machu Picchu
4.
5. I think it would be super cool to visit this place because of how unique it is. There aren't many outdoor theaters left, but even though this one is abandoned it's still amazing to see how it was set up. It's interesting because I have never seen an outdoor theater in real life and it looks exactly like the inside theaters now. The photos that would be taken would be very interesting and cool because it would probably amaze people that this place is still here. Also, most of the equipment seems to still be there.
6. To take photos at this location, I would need a plane ticket, all of the camera equipment that I have, and probably a map and food and water. I don't know if there would be any laws about going to this place. It seems to be in the middle of a deserted area and it is abandoned so I don't know if I would need permission or not since it doesn't belong to anybody.

Africa
1. I think what that photographer does is amazing. It is so cool that he goes to such extremes just to get specific photos. The photos that he takes are like no other and are so real that they look fake.
2.
2.
3. This is my favorite picture because of the patterns of the cheetah print and how they are all looking with interest at something. Also, they are all together which may mean that they're a family and sticking together.
4. Viewpoint is a rule in this picture. It seems as if the photographer got down low and took the picture because the cheetahs are are up high.
5. Pentax 67II & medium-format black and white film. It is important because his camera and lenses are what makes his photos so great.
6. He takes the photos to show the animals in their state of being.
7. He hopes that people will try to save the animals or wildlife and stop killing them.
8. "There is something profoundly iconic, mythological even, about the animals of East and southern Africa."

A. What do you think happened to Malaysia Airlines Flight 370? Please cite current information coming out about the situation. Make sure to back your theory with facts and explain why you think you are correct.
I think that somebody did in fact alter something in the planes system. I think one of the pilots had something to do with it because if it was a terrorist attack or anything with one of the passengers, a pilot could have sent signals or radioed to somebody for help. Since the plane just mysteriously disappeared, it could have been a pilot because they wouldn't want anyone to know what their plan was.
